Rosacea Skin Care -- Life 5 and Frankincense for Clear Skin
For the last ten years I’ve had rosacea, or adult acne. None of the rosacea skin care methods I did worked – Chinese herb soap, acupuncture, zinc cream, removing the “offending foods” of coffee, wine, etc. It was really starting to get me down, as I had to wear makeup everyday to cover the red bumps. I just wanted clear, smooth skin, and I refused to use over the counter medications.
According to Chinese medicine, skin issues like rosacea are often related to the colon. I also knew from reading about kids who have spectrum issues that when the digestive tract is permeable, something commonly known as “leaky gut” causes undigested proteins to enter the bloodstream and which can cause an immune response and cause the body’s additional detox pathways – skin, and lungs – to go into overdrive. That’s why it’s very common to see kids who have digestive problems also have issues with asthma and eczema – and perhaps, why so many adults now suffer with rosacea than ever before.
So, I wondered, Could I have leaky gut? I mean, I drink raw milk and other probiotic rich foods which are a helpful part of

Did you know that old fashioned lye soap has many benefits, including killing mites, lice, and improving skin conditions such as rosacea and acne?
Natural, organic lye soap has many benefits, including softening skin and improving texture. It is known to help poison ivy, psoriasis, eczema, and is the same soaps that were used 100 years ago before the industrialization of detergents.
This handmade, organic lye soap has herbal extracts such as rose comfrey and lavender as well as raw foods like honey, oatmeal and milk. Each bar is handcrafted and "in the raw" so it doesn't look like commercial soap.
Another benefit of this natural soap is that it is extremely long-lasting, and a single bar lasts through many, many washings. It is a great all-purpose soap, and can be used to whiten laundry (simply shave off a few pieces with a cheese grater and add to laundry) and can be used around the house for a variety of cleaning purposes.
Ingredients: coconut oil, olive oil, lard from pastured, organic pigs, sodium hydroxide (natural lye) and herbal extracts, oats, honey, and lavender.
I eat a traditional diet, and get plenty of vitamins A and D through cod liver oil. I began to do a little research to discover how I could incorporate more probiotics into my diet through food. I began fermenting my raw milk and drinking it (a beverage called “kefir”) and I drank about 16 ounces of this a day. Within one week, I saw a difference in my rosacea. The redness faded and the bumps went away.
Now, as part of my rosacea skin care program, I also included in my nightly routine applying Young Living’s frankincense oil to my face. This really helped to nourish my skin and heal old blemishes. By simply making these two change: adding 16 ounces of kefir a day and applying frankincense nightly, I came up with a rosacea skin care program that really worked: my rosacea began to disappear. It took a full month for it to nearly completely disappear, but it improved every day.
I used natural foods like kefir and fermented vegetables. You could try this with a good quality probiotic. I recommend "Life 5" from Young Living, along with their frankincense. Here's a link to learn more about ordering

I Needed to Heal my Leaky Gut before I Could Have Clear Skin
Everything I had tried before only worked temporarily, so I couldn't believe it when every day I woke up and my skin looked better and better. In the morning – whether I got a good night’s sleep or not – my skin was clear and smooth. Even my husband commented how good my skin looked.
Clearly I had leaky gut (or some candida, as well) and my skin was trying to detox. I guess I thought that because I ate so many probiotic-rich foods, I was immune to this condition. However, I now wonder if as we age, we need greater amounts of probiotics in our digestive tracts to function optimally. I’ve heard it said that each year after 30, our digestive enzymes decline. Perhaps the same thing happens in our digestive tracts with gut flora. Since our guts are so important to our emotional health, I'm glad I corrected this issue as part of a rosacea skin care plan.
Try this if you don't want to drink kefir or don't have access to raw milk: Take Young Living's Life 5 and use their frankincense on your face for a month. I just know that your skin, and general health will improve.
